Warpmode is a conceptual game and thought experiment by artist Jazsalyn. As a part of the game players draw cards and respond to prompts to rethink social frameworks through Black Metatheories: Afrofuturism, Afronowism, Afrovoidism, and Afropocalypse.
Warpmode reframes the format of a deck of cards as an expansive game of thought experiments. The game is fully realized when played as a group, but it can also be played alone in one's mind. Players draw cards and respond to existential prompts to envision new worlds and alternate realities.
As a part of the Warpmode world, Black Beyond has organized a program series in NYC. The Warpmode Program series is co-presented by Onassis ONX and Pioneer Works, in partnership with Metalabel. The first iteration is also co-presented with Serpentine Arts Technologies. Follow our social channels to join the next event and play with us.
